Window automation starts with the opening

An electrically operated window needs an actuator, brackets and controls suited to the opening. Autowin offers WindowMaster products for natural ventilation and smoke-control applications.

PRODUCTS & APPLICATIONS

The actuator and window need to work together

Start with opening direction, frame and sash materials, dimensions and weight. Describe the desired opening and available mounting space. A force rating or stroke length alone does not select the complete solution.

Autowin’s catalogue includes chain actuators such as WMU 831, WMU 836, WMU 852 and WMX 823, together with controls, brackets and sensors. These are examples from the range, not interchangeable defaults for every window.

About Autowin
MATERIALS, MODELS & OPERATIONS

Parts of a controlled window opening

Window actuator

Select for sash movement and load. Show mounting space and required opening in the drawings.

Mounting brackets

Describe frame and sash fixings alongside the actuator. Concealed mounting may require a different arrangement from surface mounting.

Control panel

Autowin presents WCC controls for natural ventilation and WSC for smoke applications. Identify the use before choosing a model.

Operating controls and sensors

Rain, wind and user operation affect the controls. Also state whether a building-management connection is required.

DETAILS FOR YOUR PROJECT

Three questions before selecting a model

Useful initial information describes the opening, the function and the controls. This supports selection of compatible components.

Opening
Provide dimensions, sash weight, opening direction and materials, showing the available mounting space.
Function
Daily ventilation, a high-level window or a smoke-control function. State whether several actuators need coordinated operation.
Controls
A wall switch, sensors or building-management control. Describe the interface and window grouping required.

Communication and feedback capabilities vary with model and accessories. Mentioning MotorLink, KNX or BACnet does not mean every panel has the same equipment.

PREPARE YOUR ENQUIRY

Tell us what you need

Selection and pricing depend on the opening, brackets, controls, quantities and accessories. Send window drawings and the intended function so the enquiry covers the complete arrangement.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Before you order

Can an existing window be motorised?

This requires assessment of the window, fixings and mounting space. Include drawings and photographs of the frame, sash and hardware.

Are all actuators suitable for smoke ventilation?

No. Check intended use and documentation for the exact actuator and system combination. A general product category is insufficient.

Can windows operate together?

The range includes control panels and communication options. Actuator quantities, grouping and functions need to be selected together.

How is this different from natural ventilation?

This page focuses on actuator, mounting and controls. Natural ventilation concerns how the openings serve the building’s airflow and comfort.
