HERITAGE & ENGINEERING

Artisanal woodcraft and industrial precision in Småland

Solid timber expertise and industrial versatility

Rooted in Lenhovda’s historic furniture and woodworking heritage, LMAB unites artisanal woodcraft with industrial batch manufacturing. Our facility processes everything from slow-grown Swedish pine and European hardwoods (oak, ash, beech) to dimensionally stable engineered boards including birch plywood, moisture-resistant MDF, and edge-glued panels.

Every timber consignment is inspected for moisture content and grain orientation before machining begins. Our automated cutting optimization software guarantees minimal raw material waste and maximum dimensional stability in finished components for architectural, furniture, and interior sectors.

5-axis CNC machining centers and catalytic lacquer line

At the core of the facility are our 5-axis CNC machining centers (Biesse and Weeke). They execute complex 3D contour milling, shaping, drilling, and tenoning in a single clamping directly from customer 3D CAD models (STEP, IGES, DXF). This eliminates manual re-clamping inaccuracies and delivers repeatable sub-millimeter precision.

For surface finishing, LMAB operates an automated coating line featuring sanding machines, rotary brush polishers, automated spray robots, and curing ovens. The plant features a catalytic oxidizer that incinerates solvent emissions and recaptures process heat for the building, accommodating both eco-friendly waterborne finishes and 2K polyurethane coatings.

Timber work and prefabricated wood components for buildings and interiors

Prefabricated timber components and contract manufacturing executed by LMAB (Amawood AB). Raw timber in solid wood (pine, oak, ash) or moisture-resistant plywood/MDF. Machining executed using 5-axis CNC milling per supplied digital CAD data. Surface finishing: industrially applied coating system in robotic facility with controlled dry-film thickness.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Technical inquiries for architects and structural engineers

Which digital CAD file formats can LMAB accept for CNC manufacturing?

We accept standard industry 3D formats including STEP (.stp), IGES (.igs), Parasolid (.x_t), DXF, and DWG. Our CAM programmers generate machine G-code directly from your 3D solids, drastically shortening lead times from drawing to finished components.

Does LMAB handle both small prototype batches and regular volume runs?

Yes. Our production plant in Lenhovda is designed for rapid tooling changes. We manufacture everything from single custom prototypes and limited architectural runs to recurring monthly volume runs with thousands of components.

Which surface coatings and finishes can be applied at your facility?

Our robotic finishing line provides automated calibration sanding, denibbing, and spray coating with both waterborne eco-coatings and heavy-duty 2K polyurethanes. We supply all gloss levels, wood stains, oils, and solid colors in the NCS and RAL palettes.

Can you provide completed component assembly and retail-ready packaging?

Yes. Beyond machining, we provide complete hardware mounting, hinge insertion, mechanical pre-assembly, quality inspection protocols, and custom packaging complete with labeling and barcodes ready for final distribution.
