Insulating glass or a decorative window?
Start with the application. The ARGON range uses triple insulating glazing and includes round and half-round designs. The decorative half-round window with glazing bars is a different product: it uses moisture-resistant HDF and 4 mm single glazing. These constructions should be distinguished when comparing windows.
Formfönster works with pine, oak and ash. Its published range includes round windows without glazing bars and half-round versions with bars. Shape, ordering dimensions, material and colour need to be selected for the particular window.

Ordering size and delivered size are different
Formfönster’s product examples show why drawings need to state which measurement is intended. The deduction depends on the model.
- ARGON RUND
- The published Ø800 example is delivered with a 780 mm diameter, a deduction of 20 mm.
- ARGON HALVMÅNE
- The 8 × 4 example is delivered at 780 × 380 mm, including the version with glazing bars.
- Decorative model
- The 8 × 4 example is delivered at 790 × 390 mm. The stated deduction for this model is 10 mm.
These are published product examples, not a sizing rule for every bespoke window. Confirm the ordering dimensions and overall frame dimensions for the chosen model before ordering.

How does ARGON differ from a decorative window?
ARGON RUND is a timber window with triple insulating glazing. The published decorative half-round model uses HDF and 4 mm single glazing. Compare construction and glazing as well as shape.
Does Ø800 mean an 800 mm overall frame diameter?
Not in Formfönster’s published example: Ø800 is delivered as 780 mm. State whether your measurement describes the wall opening, a nominal ordering size or the outside of the frame.
What U-value is published for ARGON?
Formfönster lists a U-value of 1.0 for ARGON and also describes it as the insulating glass value. This should not be assumed to be the whole-window Uw value. Request the figure for the selected construction if it is needed for an energy calculation.
Can the round window be opened?
The public product information does not specify an opening function for ARGON RUND. If opening is required, confirm this before choosing a model.
